Running from Harriet Tubman Square to Lincoln Park, Halsey Street has emerged as a budding place brand, representing Newark’s entrepreneurial and innovative culture through dining, entertainment, retail, and cultural establishments. More than that, it represents Newark’s potential as a city beautifully balancing new and old, homegrown and imported talent, institutional strength and small, scrappy businesses—often led by entrepreneurs of color. Our mission is to amplify the heartbeat of Halsey Street, placing the spotlight on small businesses and local talent, fueling their growth while celebrating and valuing their stories.
Halsey’s compelling value proposition has been brought to life through a dynamic district website, social media channels, branding tie-ins to Newark Alliance’s Halsey Fest events portfolio, PR efforts and more. The creation of the Halsey Investment Collective will become part of Halsey’s story, moving residents and visitors who are keen to support social and economic justice. The funds and leadership from the Collective will significantly augment the effort to make Halsey a premier destination.
